Help Sort Harvest Food Donations – Inside Out Club

May 18, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

Help feed the hungry by volunteering with us at the West Suburban Community Pantry.

This spring the West Suburban Community Pantry will host a food drive to help feed the hungry who come to their pantry. Our group will help sort and organize the items received. Additionally, we’ll learn about hunger in DuPage County, how organizations like the West Suburban Community Pantry are helping feed the hungry and ways we can all help!

Taking time as a family to help individuals meet their basic need of food is something you won’t forget.

What You Need to Bring

Please bring smiles and wear comfortable clothes for working in a warehouse.

Where and When

This event will be held at the West Suburban Community Pantry from 9-10:30 am. We may walk to their warehouse across the street, but we will meet in the parking lot of the pantry.

This is a great way to build empathy, demonstrate kindness and have fun volunteering together.

Register

Space is limited to 20 (adults and kids combined). You must register to reserve your spot(s). This event is free.

Age Guidelines / Parent Participation

Inside Out Club weekend events are designed for children ages 3-12 and their parents. Older children are welcome to participate as volunteer/mentors for the younger kids. These are family events, not drop off. If you have questions about these guidelines, please contact Rita at rita@insideoutclub.org.

It’s always more fun with friends! Share the event page.

About the club

Inside Out Club DuPage (formerly I Support Community) started in September 2012 after seeing the overwhelming need for children to possess a strong foundation in character and community. Our mission is to develop kids with character inside and out.

Inside Out Club Opportunities

inside out club graphicThe Inside Out Club (IOC) is designed to engage kids and families in as many of these four opportunities as possible as they practice character skills and volunteer. Working with teachers, volunteers, parents, school administrators and outside organizations, the Inside Out Club is positively impacting more than 1,400 students and their families. IOC focuses on DuPage County and its needs.

What does Inside Out mean? We work to help students develop the character skills necessary to thrive in their lives, schools, and later in jobs and community. Lessons are based on the foundations of social and emotional learning, which helps people recognize and manage emotions, develop empathy for others, maintain cooperative relationships and make responsible decisions.
