Volunteer as a family as we practice kindness and empathy together:

It’s always a good time to help others in need, and this can be especially true during winter months. At this event, we’ll be making and filling Kindness Kits with socks, gloves, pretzels, hand-made cards and love to be donated to Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans. Kids will also enjoy a story and conversation with other kids in the event around how we can all help others.

Taking time to help those in need will provide a positive mental health boost for you and your family.

We’ll have supplies ready for you to pick-up near downtown Naperville a couple of days before the event, and we ask that you please return the service projects by the following Wednesday so that we can deliver the donations (we’ll take a video of that part for you!).

  • Character Traits: Kindness, Empathy

  • Social Causes: Being Socially Responsible, Meeting Basic Needs

  • Nonprofit Partner: Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans

How this Virtual Event Will Work

Register –> pick up supplies –> participate via Zoom –> drop off donation item –> watch the donation delivery

Register  It is $10 per child and we have supplies for 20 children. Space is limited! You must register to reserve your spot(s). (Please Note: If you live too far way to pick-up the supplies, but would still like to participate in the video-learning portion of the event, you can register for Zoom-only participation for $5 per child. Email diane@insideoutclub.org). If you are unable to afford the registration fee, you can select a fee waiver at the end of this form.

Supplies Supply pick-up will be at the Inside Out Club Executive Director’s house, which is about a mile west of downtown Naperville, Illinois. The address will be emailed to you when you register. Supplies will be available for pick-up starting at noon the Wednesday before the event. We will email you when the supplies are ready.

Online Participation via Zoom – A Zoom link will be emailed to participants the morning of the event. Please be sure that marion@insideoutclub.org is not set to go to your spam folder.

Drop Off of Kindness Kits  We ask that your service projects be dropped back off to where you picked up the supplies by the next Wednesday. If you have a senior in your life and would like to use the gift for them, that would be great.

Watch the Donation Delivery  We’ll record our donation trip and send you a link, so that your family can experience the delivery virtually.

Please note: Events require registration of three or more families. In the case that we do not have enough participation, the event will be cancelled and you will receive a full refund. Additionally, Inside Out Club DuPage reserves the right to cancel the event due to reasons beyond our control. In that case, you will be contacted in regards to your registration and next steps.

The Inside Out Club Weekend program is designed to expose kids ages 3-12 to a variety of charitable organizations working in their community to make a difference.  Through this program kids will learn about items such as homelessness, hunger, community, volunteering and more.  Our goal is for children who participate in the Club to develop character inside and out, a broader view of their community and understand the many ways they can contribute and give back.

We are encouraging parents to participate in the activity with their child(ren) so that they can continue the learning at home.
