Inside Out Club Integrated Curriculum

All four core Inside Out Club programs have curriculum designed to achieve our mission of empowering youth to live each day with good character. Each program is founded on the belief that teaching young people core competencies in acceptance, curiosity, collaboration, empathy, kindness, gratitude, perseverance and self-awareness will enable youth to better navigate life and achieve well-being. The Search Institute’s Developmental Assets Framework identifies 40 environmental and interpersonal strengths that enhance educational and health outcomes; the competencies mentioned above are core areas from this framework that participants of all ages can learn to master through Inside Out Club programs.

In addition to these eight core competencies, Inside Out Club DuPage programs also contain a focus on using character for good and connecting to six social cause themes: embracing humanity, being socially responsible, developing character/self-awareness, meeting basic needs, supporting troops and veterans, and protecting the planet. This combination of eight core competencies and six social causes creates a curriculum that cultivates individual and communal well-being. Inside Out Club DuPage’s core programs, which build on this curricular foundation fostering positive youth mental health, are Standalone Events, the K-5th Series, Business Designers 4 Good and SkillsBox10.
